Marshall trained in 3D design and Ceramics. He established an international reputation and exhibition record in that field, with his work in many significant public and private collections. Additionally he has been involved in architectural interventions through his work as Chair of Edward Marshall Trust, a charity promoting contemporary design with a portfolio of prize winning projects.
In 2001 he received substantial support from the Scottish Arts Council to develop his own large scale work and has been personally commissioned for a number of architectural projects, (Download Architectural portfolio here).
Marshall’s current practice encompasses a range of disciplines: graphic/interior design, strategic planning, permanent and temporary artworks, and public engagement, (Download Engagement portfolio here).
Marshall also undertakes design, and consultancy. He has specialist experience in healthcare and worked on many major new hospitals to design and deliver integrated arts strategies. (Download C.V. here).
He was also a joint founder of “The Stove” (Portfolio here) a Dumfries based artists network that uses engaged creativity for empowerment and regeneration and is a vehicle for practical partnerships with people and organisations working in Health, Education, Tourism, Regeneration and Environment.
